The James Bond opening title sequence is made for one of the editions of the James Bond series. Because there have been many James Bond movies they have mostly had a similar opening and this title sequence also contains the trademark James bond shooting through a circle however this is only a short clip at the beginning presumably to make the audience familiar with the other films they have seen.
The movie is a spy secret agent movie and the first thing we see is the actor Daniel Craig who plays James Bond comes on with a gun. Blood falls down the screen showing that there will be deaths in the movies, and then the motion graphics of the casino and gambling related images come onto the screen.
The continuous flowing of the different casino related images being to flow in patterns on the screen and in the background is the image of James Bond. Again he is holding a gun and puts a silencer on it which again shows us he is a fairly serious secret agent.
Later on in the title opening sequence is the image of James Bond fighting with characters. Unlike earlier in the title though, both James Bond and the other characters are unrecognisable and are all in one colour, this could mean that his identity is hidden and so are the other people he’s fighting which ties in with the theme of the movie however it could also reflect real fights in the movie and they don’t want you to see the characters. The James Bond character wins all of the fights in the opening title sequence which makes him appear more powerful than the rest of the characters who are seen as the villains, and it also makes him appear invincible which is how he appears in the film too.
The location of the film is seen to be casino related as the casino related cards and poker chips run throughout the opening. The historical period isn’t really given away however it can be seen from how the graphics, especially those of the characters are animated makes the film look very modern and up to date.
The questions posed from the title sequence could be who are the men that James Bond is fighting, and also what has the storyline got to do with a casino.
These titles are pretty good for a James Bond secret agent movie as they are modern, stylish and pretty slick so they fit in with the theme of the movie well.
